Make sure you have mastered the best techniques to save time when you face a crisis. After all, you never know when you might need a spare bong. Fortunately, making a pipe is easier than you think! 94 2 Dec 2019 You never know when that moment will come: you have weed, but nothing to smoke it out of. Those are tough times for any stoner. It's always helpful to know what options you might still be able to find in your own home. Let's make it clear right away that the following methods should only be used as a last resort. If you can get out the door to buy a piece of glassware, do so. These are not materials traditionally used to smoke weed from. A real bong or pipe always does more justice to your cannabis. The taste, burn time, and feel are better if you use a product made specifically with these factors in mind. Nevertheless, a "high" is not included in these factors. That's because, technically, you're consuming the same amount of THC when you use the same amount of cannabis buds. They may not be the most ideal solutions, but these MacGyver stoner techniques are effective. Proceed wisely, however. build a bong RELATED ARTICLE How to make your own banana pipe VEGETABLES AND FRUITS Of course, we have to start with a method that was once popular and actually still is. Smoking from food is now making a comeback on social media. It's the same method your grandfather used in his stoner days. The apple is the easiest fruit to grow into a pipe. You can effortlessly turn this firm, yet soft delicacy into a pipe system. Use the empty sleeve of a pen or a small knife to cut out the central stem, but don't go all the way to the bottom. About three-quarters will do. Now that you have this hollowed out, repeat this trick, but perpendicular to your first cut. The two empty tubes should meet at the end. This is how most people smoke from fruit. You can always change things up to improve the smoking experience. If you have a bowl, place it on top of the apple. Or use the tip of a pen or any other material that doesn't melt or produce harmful fumes as a bowl. Of course, you can still make adjustments by changing the fruit or the number. In fact, anything can work as long as you build an air system, just like with the apple. You can even build vegetables and fruits on top of each other to craft a larger and more flavorful bong. For example, if you use a pineapple, you can probably add water. Or try a coconut and use its natural water! To do this, you need to stick a hollow tube through the side, cut out the top and inhale from there. Sounds blissful. The possibilities are endless. Get experimenting and find out which ones are your favorites. VEGETABLES AND FRUITS DON'T FORGET YOUR GAUZE Whether you're making a pipe out of a soda can or out of a piece of fruit; you'd be wise to use a mesh. Smoking weed without a gauze can be a pretty unpleasant experience. Such an instrument ensures that loose pieces stay in your pipe, instead of ending up in your mouth. This way you enjoy your bong even more! But what is a suitable mesh for your homemade bong? And what can you do if you don't have any mesh at your disposal? DIFFERENT TYPES OF GAUZE - Brass gauze Brass gauzes are perhaps the most common. They are found in many tobacco pipes and glass and ceramic bongs. You can find them for very little money in almost any tobacco store or head shop. These circular cutouts are made of brass. In doing so, each mesh is about the size of a small coin. Brass has the advantage that you can bend it easily. Thus, these meshes often fit into different sizes of pipe bowls. Are they just a bit too big for your pipe? You can also easily cut them to size. Do they also have disadvantages? Yes. Brass gauzes, for example, are not as sturdy as ones made of steel. Although they don't melt, they do get weaker over time and crack at some point. RELATED ARTICLE The best alternatives to bong water for an enhanced smoking experience - Stainless Steel Mesh Steel mesh is commonly seen in silicone bongs and acrylic bongs. However, the latter can be scratched quickly by these specimens. These screens work the same as brass meshes and you won't experience any difference in terms of taste. Besides the color difference, the main distinction between these 2 materials is that steel is more robust. Steel meshes are not as pliable as those made of brass. Therefore, it can be a little trickier to put them in oddly shaped pipe bowls. - Mesh made of glass or quartz Glass screens are usually made of a special, heavy-duty type of glass called borosilicate. This heat-resistant type of glass does not crack from temperature changes and does not break as easily as average glassware. Of course, these gauzes are not flexible. So you can't cut them to size. Therefore, make sure you buy the right size for your pipe. Glass does not wear out in the process. Therefore, these gauzes can basically last forever. As long as you don't break or lose them. You can also find meshes that are made of quartz. These are even more heat resistant than glass. Replaceable screens made of glass or quartz are not as common as previously mentioned options. Most high-quality glass bongs have such screens integrated directly into the design. Often they contain decoratively applied holes, rather than an ultra-fine mesh of brass or steel. DIFFERENT TYPES OF MESH WHICH MESH IS THE BEST? Actually, there is no "best" type of mesh. The important thing is that it fits neatly into the pipe bowl. If your mesh doesn't pop out after you push it into your bowl, you know it fits. Other than that, it's up to you whether you prefer steel, brass or glass mesh. WHAT IF YOU DON'T HAVE A MESH? Since this article is all about making homemade bongs, chances are you don't have any ready-made pipe screens lying around. In that case, you can make a do-it-yourself single-use mesh. Here are your options: A tried and true method is to poke some holes in a piece of aluminum foil with a toothpick. Shape the foil into an appropriately sized gauze and place it in the pipe head. Don't worry, the aluminum foil will not melt during smoking. Still, such a homemade mesh will only last 1 or 2 sessions. You can also make a gauze from a paper clip or a similar sturdy piece of metal wire. Bend the wire into a spiral shape and place it solidly in the pipe bowl. This can work as a reasonable mesh to keep larger chunks of ash and weed in your pipe. In an emergency, you can always fill your pipe bowl so that you don't need a mesh at all. Fill the bowl with the larger pieces of weed at the bottom - large enough to cover the hole without being sucked in immediately. Place the finer weed particles on top to increase the surface area, for the best puffs. This method doesn't guarantee anything, but should all else fail, it's best to try to make the best of it. |
